ESTHER WANJIKU comes from a broken family; she is now in Form 2. This is what she has to say about her experience in BCC: " Our parents divorced in1989 when I was still young. My mother has had a lot of difficulties bringing us up. I dropped out of school due to poverty. I felt very neglected and sad, but one day a good samaritan told my mother about BCC. My mother took me there... When I joined Bahati I got hope for my future. Bahati has changed my life very much because when I was at home, I was very desperate and ignorant, even people in the village were talking about me. But now I have become a very good student. I have learned to relate with other students and to share my problems with fellow students; this makes my problems bearable. The teachers in Bahati are very nice and understanding. I would like to be a doctor so that I can help patients, especially the poor and neglected. I like playing football very much."
